Ajou's Graduate School of International Studies holds an international symposium to celebrate its 20th anniversary

Ajou University's Graduate School of International Studies held an international symposium to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The symposium was held on Friday,  November 18th, in Yulgok Hall's Video Conference Room under the theme "Making Sates Work in a World after Globalization."


The event began with a keynote address by Endowed Chair Professor Jae Chang Park from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. Session 1 was attended by relevant experts and Session 2 involved students from the Graduate School. In Session 1, Professor Suk Ki Kong from Seoul National University's Asia Center and Dr. Tanwie Gilbert (Korea University, International Studies) gave presentations and Professor Tae Wook Huh from KAIST and Professor Erhan Atay (Suleyman Sah University, Turkey) participated in discussions. Session 2 featured presentations by students from the Graduate School with diverse nationalities, including Ecuador, Uzbekistan, Cameroon, and Cambodia.


Dean Jay Ick Lim of the Graduate School said, "I am pleased to hold this second international symposium after the first one that marked the 10th anniversary of our school. Over the past two decades, our school has contributed to fostering talents with expertise in international affairs and I look forward to its continued development and the next symposiums celebrating our 30th and 40th anniversaries." He went on to say, "Graduates of our school returned to their home countries and are now working at local governments and companies, etc. They are contributing to improving South Korea's international competitiveness due to their improved awareness of our country."
