Ajou University President and junior professors meet for communication
[16.11.10]
The second meeting between Ajou University President Dong Yeon Kim and junior professors was held at 11 a.m. on November 10th in Yulgok Hall's Conference Room 1.
It was arranged to discuss various issues that junior professors face in education and research and to have open communication towards the development of the University. Thirteen professors attended the first session on October 24th and 10 professors participated in the second one on November 10th. The University administration invited applications for the meeting from professors who have worked at Ajou for five years or less.
President Kim began the meeting by saying, "I believe that we should praise our achievements and bring up the issues for open discussion that should be improved," adding, "I ask that you share both your positive and negative opinions of the University at any time." He then emphasized communication and convergence by saying, "I recommend that you seek many opportunities for exchanges with other faculty members regardless of majors or departments."
A professor who participated in the meeting said, "I find that it is not easy to communicate with professors from other departments and I appreciate it that the President has arranged such an opportunity today."
Other issues that were discussed for more than two hours during the meeting included lecture evaluation, inter-departmental cooperation and its procedures, and support for research activities.
