Ajou signs an MOU with Inter-American Development Bank for the first time with an international agency

[16.11.09]

On the afternoon of November 8th, a signing ceremony was held for Ajou University and Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for their agreement on mutual cooperation and the two sides discussed specific areas for exchanges. The MOU is the first that the University has concluded with an international agency, and for IDB, it was the first time it has entered into a partnership with a South Korean university.

The IDB delegation consisted of Manager Ana Maria and Senior Advisor Roberto Manrique.

The two sides discussed sending Ajou's students to IDB for internships (two students in both summer and winter), Central and Latin American countries inviting students for training, and dispatching students from Central and Latin American countries to Ajou for the inbound After You program, etc.

Upon request from the IDB delegation, the University arranged a meeting at 4 p.m. in Dasan Hall, in which President Dong Yeon Kim, Manager Ana Maria, and about 30 Korean and foreign students participated. During the meeting, Manager Ana Maria introduced IDB and discussed various topics, including advice for students looking to enter international agencies and various issues and challenges for Central and Latin American countries.

Manager Ana Maria said, "The purpose of our visit is to invite the University to join us in working for social development. IDB would also like to share the values pursued by Ajou."
