Ajou's Unification Education Center for Southern Gyeonggi Province holds the Unification Festival

[16.10.31]


The Unification Festival hosted by the Unification Education Center for Southern Gyeonggi Province began at 10 a.m. on October 29th on the lawn in front of Yulgok Hall. Ajou University is conducting unification-related education in the community after it was selected as the Unification Education Center for Southern Gyeonggi Province by the Ministry of Unification.


The theme of the festival was 'Cultural Festival Featuring Plays and Experiences' and it provided a meaningful venue of experiences to elementary through university students and adult citizens. Unification Dream jointly organized the event.


The festival consisted of a variety of interesting programs. 'Imagine Unification' helped the participants imagine the future of North Korea and unification through exhibitions and experiences. 'Understanding North Korea' served as an opportunity to learn the names and features of different areas in the North in the hope of unification. In the 'Unification Roulette' program, the participants received various gifts after conducting missions preparing for unification. In addition, there was a program for introducing traditional plays in North and South Korea.


The University was selected by the Ministry of Unification as the Unification Education Leading University (UELU) in March and chosen as the Unification Education Center for Southern Gyeonggi Province in April, respectively. The Ministry of Unification launched the UELU project to develop unification education models and promote unification-related education at universities, including expanding unification-related subjects, and is using the regional education center to establish unification education hubs in local communities.
