[16.08.09]

The award ceremony for the '2016 Programming Contest for Four Universities in Southern Gyeonggi Province (SHAKE!)' was held on August 8th in the Office of the President at Ajou University.

The Contest was first organized last year by Ajou's LINC Project Group in partnership with the student councils of computer-related departments and academic societies from Kyung Hee University, Sungkyunkwan University, and Hanyang University ERICA Campus, and it aims to identify and foster talents in programming. Naver has sponsored the contest and, this year, it also provided the venue for the final round and additional prizes.

The preliminary round was held from May 10th to the 28th at each university, with a total of 238 students participating. Of those, sixty students – fifteen from each university – made it to the final round, which was held July 2nd in Naver's D2 Startup Factory located in Bundang, Seongnam City.

Byeong Chan Suh and Hyeon Jin Lee (Department of Software, Ajou University) won the Grand Prize and the First Place Award, respectively. The Excellence Award went to Seung Joo Choi (Department of Software, Ajou University) and the Participation Award was presented to Jeong Hoon Park (Department of Software, Sungkyunkwan University) and Hyeong Jin Lim (College of Information & Communication Engineering/Software, Sungkyunkwan University). Ki Seok Jeong (Department of Software, Ajou University) received the Naver Special Prize.

President Dong Yeon Kim and Executive Vice President for Industry-Academia Cooperation Kyung Hee Choi from Ajou University and Director Jong Mok Park from Naver attended the award ceremony and presented certificates of award and additional prizes to the award winners. Also in attendance were Ajou's Professor Sang Yoon Oh (Department of Software), who played a major role in organizing the event, LINC Project Team Leader Goon Jin Lim, and Chairman Min Ki Park from academic society A.N.S.I., etc.
