The 2016 academic year ceremony for presenting Daewoo Scholarships was held at 11 a.m. on March 31st in Yulgok Hall's Video Conference Room at Ajou University.

Over the past 23 years since 1993, the Daewoo Educational Foundation has presented full scholarships to top performing students by class from the University's colleges and schools, and a total of 38 students were selected to receive the scholarships this year.

The ceremony was attended by Chairman Ho Seok Choo and members of the board of directors from the Foundation, deans, vice presidents, and relevant officials from Ajou’s colleges and schools, and the scholarship students from the University. It kicked off with a report on the current status of Daewoo Scholarships by Vice President for Student Affairs Jai Hyoung Cho, followed by a video presentation about the scholarships, the awarding of the certificates of scholarship, a pledge and words of appreciation by the representative of the scholarship students, congratulatory messages, and words of encouragement by the Foundation directors.

Representing the scholarship students, Chi Nam Ahn (Department of Chemistry, Senior) expressed her appreciation, saying, "I am proud to receive this full scholarship thanks to my hard work during the previous semester. Having been given this opportunity, I will work hard to contribute to the University after graduation."

In his words of encouragement, Chairman Choo said, "There is a saying ‘Building a Castle Leads to Failure, While Building a Road Brings Success.’ I ask that you don’t remain complacent with this financial support, but use it as an opportunity to realize your grandest dreams."

President Dong Yeon Kim congratulated the students, saying, "I expect you to develop your own unique talents beyond academic excellence. I ask that you create greater value by making the most of your potential."
