About 2,900 students receive certificates of degrees at Ajou’s graduation ceremony for the 2015 Academic Year

The graduation ceremony for the 2015 academic year was held at 2 p.m. on February 22nd in Ajou University’s Gymnasium.
 
 
At the graduation ceremony, 1,630 students received their bachelor’s degree, 234 students received their master’s degree, and 87 students received their doctoral degree certificates. From among the 1,630 students who obtained bachelor degrees, 215 students became dual degree holders and 93 students received the degrees for their minors. The total number of those who obtained degrees during the 2015 academic year reached 2,440 for bachelor’s degrees, 389 for master’s degrees, and 160 for doctoral degrees, including those who received degrees last August (810 for bachelor’s degrees, 155 for master’s degrees, and 58 for doctoral degrees).
 
 
The commencement ceremony began with a pledge to the nation, followed by a report of conferred degrees by Vice President for Academic Affairs Suk Chul Rim, remarks by President Dong Yeon Kim, words of response by the representative of the graduates, awards presentations, and degree conferment. 
 
 
The ceremony was attended by Chairman Ho Seok Choo of the Daewoo Educational Foundation, President Kim, Executive Vice President for Industry-Academia Cooperation Kyung Hee Choi, Deans of the Colleges under the University, and Chairman Beom Jae Lee of the General Alumni Association. 
 
 
In his remarks, President Dong Yeon Kim said, "As President, the most pleasant and happiest moments for me over the last year were when I met with you in person and we shared our concerns and thoughts," adding, "Today, I would like to mention failures and frustrations as you leave the University." 
 
 
President Kim went on to say, "You don’t have to worry about challenges because failures and trials and errors will not simply remain as 'painful memories,'" adding, "The University will 'feel responsible' for and stand by you until each and every one of you establish yourselves in respective positions."
 
 
The words of response by the graduates were read by Yong Bok Lee, who graduated summa cum laude.
