Ajou is selected as the Best Promotion University at the KUSF Awards

Ajou University was selected as the Best Promotion University for its soccer team at the '2015 Korea University Sport Federation (KUSF) Awards.' The University took home the award in the category for the second straight year after winning it in 2014.
 
 
Ajou received a plaque and prize money at the award ceremony, which was held on February 4th at the Renaissance Hotel Seoul during the 2016 KUSF General Assembly.
 
 
In order to establish a sporting culture in which many Ajou people participate, the University is operating the soccer team support system, which involves professors, staff members, and students in a similar way to that of professional sports clubs, for the first time among Korean universities. On home game days, the soccer team arranges various events to encourage Ajou people to come out and watch and cheer the team on. On other days, it sells uniforms of its players or promotes upcoming matches at local markets, etc. Thanks to such activities, the University attracted 1,010 fans to the opening game and a combined 4,050 spectators throughout the 2015 U-League, which is more than any other university according to the official statistics compiled by the Korea Football Association.
 
 
Unlike 2014, when KFA only collected data on university soccer teams, the rankings for 2015 are based on data on all the university sports in the country. This is expected to further boost the goal of Ajou's soccer team to be the leader of university sports culture.
 
 
In other categories at the KUSF Awards, Mi Seon Choi from Kwangju Women's University’s archery team was chosen as the Excellent Academic Performance Student and Manager Sang Bok Lee from Dong Eui University's badminton team was selected as the Outstanding Leader.
