A student team from Ajou University's Department of Mechanical Engineering won the Grand Prize at the activity presentations in the 'College Student Supporters for Smart Eco Drive,' which was hosted by the Seoul Municipal Government.

The 'College Student Supporters for Smart Eco Drive' is a program prepared by the Seoul Municipal Government, the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, and Toyota Motor Korea in an effort to promote eco drive technology. It refers to environment-friendly, economical, and safe driving, thereby helping to curb energy consumption and reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide by improving the fuel efficiency of automobiles.

Twenty teams of undergraduate and graduate students conducted online and offline activities for the Program for a month from late last October. Ajou's Team ECO20, which consists of four students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, received the Seoul City Mayor Award, the top prize, with a presentation on their activities.

Team ECO20, whose members are Soo Hyeon Cha, Yo Han Ahn, Seong Min Cho, and Yeon Woo Lee, received 3 million won in prize money, along with an opportunity to visit the Toyota Motor Headquarters and the Fuji Speedway Circuit in Japan. The award ceremony was held on December 21st in the Seosomun Building of the Seoul Municipal Government.
