The musical "Sherlock Holmes – The Secret of the Anderson Family" was successfully staged at Ajou University on November 25th with about 3,500 people in attendance, including Ajou people and local residents.

The performance was part of the Ajou Cultural Fest, which is held every year in November and has staged various types of shows, including pop and classical music concerts. The “Sherlock Holmes” musical is based on the well-known detective novel with the same title. It is considered to be a quality production and have popular appeal, winning several awards after the novel was first adapted to musical form in 2011.

About 1,000 local residents from Wooman-dong, Woncheon-dong, and Gwanggyo enjoyed the musical, along with students, professors, and staff members from the University.

President Eui Seop Shin of Ajou’s Student Council said, "This is the last major event I have prepared this year as the leader of the Student Council. My term is approaching its end, and I am thankful that so many people have come to fill this theater."

President Dong Yeon Kim briefly introduced the novel Sherlock Holmes written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and asked that the audience enjoy the performance. He said to the invited residents, "Ajou University has a nationwide reputation and strength in international exchanges, but I believe its foundation will be weak if Ajou fails to take root in the community and be loved by the residents, no matter how hard we work. Ajou will continue to serve the community, share happiness, and grow together with residents like you."
