Ajou holds an event to encourage students preparing for the mid-term exam

2015-10-16

On the afternoon of October 15th, an event for distributing ‘LINC (Leaders in INdustry-college Cooperation) Bread’ was held at Ajou University’s Central Library square. For the event, the University prepared bread, milk, and clear file folders for students taking their mid-term examinations.

The event was so popular that more than 1,500 students dropped by the booths, which were set up at the square, and President Dong Yeon Kim, Executive Vice President for Industry-Academia Cooperation Kyung Hee Choi, and Vice President for Student Affairs Jai Hyoung Cho personally gave both refreshments and words of encouragement to the visiting students on an individual basis. The event lasted for one and a half hours, 30 minutes longer than planned, and all the bread that was prepared was given out.

President Kim shook hands with students, and encouraged and talked with them. He advised the students to keep working hard and 'make their capabilities brilliant' as he handed out clear file folders. Students expressed their gratitude and passed on their ideas for the University’s development to the President.

Ajou’s Student Council and the LINC Project Group organized the event to encourage students during the mid-term exam period and to promote the LINC Project. The Project, in which the University is participating, is a national project that was begun in 2012 by the Ministry of Education. It aims to improve the competitiveness of domestic universities and local communities and corporations by upgrading the quality of university education in line with the needs of industry.
