The Hanmaeum Scholarship led by alumni of Ajou's Graduate School of Public Affairs donates 30 million won in scholarships

A ceremony for delivering a scholarship fund by the Hanmaeum (harmony) Scholarship Society was held on September 22nd at the President's Office in Yulgok Hall. The Hanmaeum Scholarship Society was launched in 2010 and is led by students and alumni of Ajou's Graduate School of Public Affairs


During the ceremony, the Hanmaeum Scholarship Society donated 30 million won in scholarship funds to the University. 25 million won of the fund will be used for the 'After You Program' and the remaining 5 million won will be spent on the 'Ajou SOS Program for Hope.'


The 'After You Program' is an intensive overseas training program for students who find it hard to build overseas experience due to various difficulties. The 'Ajou SOS Program for Hope' is an emergency support initiative for students who are in danger of quitting studying because of financial difficulties.


The day's ceremony was attended by President Dong Yeon Kim and other professors including Vice President for Planning Jung Seob Lee and Dean Heung Sik Kim of the Graduate School of Public Affairs. From the Hanmaeum Scholarship Society, Chairman Ho Hyeon Seok, Secretary General Hyeong Nye Kim of the General Alumni Council at the Graduate School of Public Affairs (master's degree course), Chairman Seong Shik Shin of the General Alumni Council for the Advanced Real Estate Program, Head of the Student Council Hwa Cheol Shin for the master's degree course, and Head of the Student Council Hee Yeong Park for the Advanced Real Estate Program were in attendance.
 

Establishment of the Hanmaeum Scholarship Society was led by professors, staff members, and students and graduates of master's degree courses and non-degree advanced programs at the Graduate School of Public Affairs. Since then, the Society has steadily contributed scholarship funds for Ajou's undergraduate students from disadvantaged families.
