Ajou's students from Society AFEC win awards at the Creative Air Vehicle Contest

Members of AFEC, an academic society from Ajou University's Department of Mechanical Engineering, won the Gold Prize in the fixed-wing category and the Bronze Prize in the rotary-wing category at the '2016 Creative Air Vehicle Contest for University Students' organized by Gyeongsang National University (GNU).


The Contest, which was held from Sept 9th to the 10th in the Aviation Test Center at Yangsan Campus of Busan National University (PNU), was co-hosted by GNU and PNU. Student teams from middle and high schools and universities from across the country participated in the fixed-wing category (30 teams) and the rotary-wing category (8 teams).


The event aims to promote a creative and active mindset for the further development of students interested in aeronautical science.


Team Blue Whale from AFEC received the Gold Prize and 800,000 won in prize money in the fixed-wing category, and Team Trone won the Bronze Prize and 300,000 won in the rotary-wing category. Professor Yun Ho Choi (Department of Mechanical Engineering) advised the teams for the Contest.
