Ajou University was selected as an Excellent Institution in the '2016 Youth Dream Best Practice University Project.' The award ceremony was held at 2 p.m. on November 29th at the Korea Press Center in Seoul.

Under the Project, the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Employment Information Service join hands with The Dong-A Ilbo newspaper to evaluate and select universities that are excellent in helping young people develop their capabilities to find jobs and start their own businesses. The organizers evaluated 25 Youth Dream Universities and 41 universities with on-campus Creative Job Centers that provided student-friendly education in the last year and are capable of fostering research talents. Ajou is a Youth Dream University and has the Creative Job Center. The selection categories were Global Career Development, Career Guidance, Employment Support, and Business Start-up Support.

In his congratulatory remarks, Minister of Employment and Labor Ki Kweon Lee said, "Timely and systematic career guidance for university students influences the quality of their employment and the businesses they start," adding, "This event will contribute to raising the overall capabilities of universities in general by sharing the best practices being conducted by model universities in terms of their graduates' employment."

Ajou's Paran Semester that was launched earlier this year was selected as one of the best practices. It was acknowledged for its regular student consulting involving the President, guiding professors, and outside experts and for its well-organized assessment of student tasks and credit recognition by the Operating Committee as well as for the program objectives.
