The Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra gave a concert on the evening of November 28th in College Academic Building's Grand Auditorium at the invitation of Ajou University.

The 80-minute concert was attended by about 600 people, including President Dong Yeon Kim, students, and officials from the University, local citizens, and Mayor Tae Young Yeom and officials from the Suwon Municipal Government.

Professor Dae Jin Kim of Korea National University of Arts, who is also Music Director and Permanent Conductor of the Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra, served as the conductor with Soprano Ji Eun Lee and Tenor Seok Neuk Lee collaborating.

Overture Egmont Op. 84 and Symphony No. 5 in C Major Op. 67 (both composed by Beethoven) were played during the concert. Soprano Lee sang Dongshimcho composed by Seong Tae Kim, Tenor Lee sang Granada composed by Agustin Lara, and they performed a duet of Libiamo Ne'lieti Calici from the opera La Traviata.

Established in 1982, the Orchestra has been staging at least 60 concerts per year. It is becoming a popular orchestra after Professor Kim, a top-class pianist in Korea, joined as Permanent Conductor in 2008.
