Ajou University President Dong Yeon Kim gave a special lecture to 30 Suwon City officials who are participating in the Key Leaders Education Program. The Suwon Municipal Government commissioned the University's Graduate School of Public Affairs to operate the Program.

During the lecture held on the afternoon of November 28th under the theme 'Game-changing Revolution,' President Kim discussed his experiences as a public official and related anecdotes, emphasizing the two major changes facing Korean society, their implications, and how we should address them.

He said, "We are facing the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the outrage of a majority of the people in our society due to structural social problems."

He went on to say, "The Fourth Industrial Revolution requires us to foster creative and flexible talents above all," adding, "Polarization and social inequality should be properly addressed for our society to develop in a sustainable manner."

He concluded his lecture by saying, "After you finish this program, I ask that each of you always consider how you can contribute to dealing with social issues and return to your work as government officials with this in mind."

Thirty officials from the Suwon Municipal Government are attending the Key Leaders Education Program, which lasts for ten months. The Program includes 19 subjects including “The Changing Administrative Environment and Local Government Administration for the Future,” “Proper Views of Public Positions,” “Laws and Regulations Relevant to Municipal Officials,” and “Education on Informatization.” This year marks the second year of the education program.
