NEW [16.12.20] Ajou University Professor Heon Hwan Lee takes office as President of the Korea Public Law Association (KPLA)

Professor Heon Hwan Lee from Ajou University's Law School was inaugurated as the 36th President of the Korea Public Law Association (KPLA) under a one-year term. 

 
 
He assumed the presidency at the '2016 KPLA General Assembly' held on December 16th in the Grand Auditorium of the Constitutional Research Institute in  Jung-gu, Seoul. His term begins in January 2017.
 
 
Marking its 60th anniversary this year, KPLA is an association of researchers of the constitution and administrative laws and other legal practitioners. KPLA publishes its quarterly academic journal Public Law.
 
 
Professor Lee said, "2017 is a very important year in terms of public law," adding, "I feel grave responsibility as the KPLA President because we will have to face historic issues over the next year."
 
 
He went on to say, "I am planning to host an international symposium in June and July under the theme of international human rights acts," adding, "It will be an opportunity to introduce South Korea's views on human rights to foreigners and invite scholars from Africa or the Middle East who are suffering hardships to listen to their voices."
