Ajou University held the groundbreaking ceremony for the College of Nursing building on the afternoon of December 13th. The seven-story College of Nursing building will be constructed on the space between Jonghap Hall and Songjae Hall. The new building is scheduled to be completed in May 2018 with a space of 9,235㎡, which will cost 14.1 billion won and include advanced nursing practice rooms, simulation rooms, seminar rooms, classrooms, and laboratories, etc.

Ajou's College of Nursing was launched in 1998 with 120 students and 2,215 students have finished the regular and special courses since then. It performed well in the 2014 Colleges of Nursing Evaluation and all of its students have passed the relevant national test in all but one year.

President Kim said, "Our College of Nursing has made remarkable progress through its determination and passion despite its relatively short history. Constructing a new building for the College will provide further momentum and synergy to the Game-changing Revolution that is being pursued by the University."

President Hee Sug Ryu of Ajou University Medical Center said, "When completed, the building will significantly improve the educational and research environment and take the College a step closer to its goal of 'becoming the best college of nursing in South Korea by fostering next-generation nursing talents.'"
