NEW [16.12.02] Student and graduate from Ajou's Department of Industrial Engineering win awards for their papers

Gyu Woong Kim from Ajou University Graduate School's Department of Industrial Engineering received the Excellence Award – The President of the Korean Institute of Industrial Engineers (KIIE) Award – in the '5th Contest for Industrial Convergence Promotion and Research Papers.'


The Contest is co-hosted by KIIE and the Korea National Industrial Convergence Center. KIIE aims to provide theoretical and practical support for industrial convergence among businesses through the event.


Gyu Woong Kim, Jae Hyeong Ahn (the second author), and Professor Sung Joo Lee (Department of Industrial Engineering) were honored with the Award for their paper entitled 'Deriving Industrial Convergence Opportunities for CT and IT Through an Analysis of Technological Structure Network.'


The award ceremony was held on November 19th at Korea University.


In addition, Dong Kyoo Lim, who graduated from the Department of Industrial Engineering in February and now works at Danal, won the Best Paper Award from the Korea Institute of Intellectual Property (KIIP). Every year, KIIP selects outstanding papers to receive the Award among those that were published in its Journal of Intellectual Property and that contributed to the development of intellectual property research.


Lim received the Award in the Economics and Business Administration category for his paper entitled 'Classification of Non-Practicing Entities Based on Their Patterns of Patent Acquisition and Usage with the Focus on Components of Business Models.' Professor Sung Joo Lee participated in the research as the corresponding author.


The award ceremony was held on November 25th in Samjung Hotel in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
