Ajou University is the only private university to have its College of Pharmacy education program accredited by the Korean Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (KACPE). The accreditation is effective for five years from January 2017.

The KACPE evaluation covered six areas – College of Pharmacy Operation (11 categories), Goals and Programs of Education (19 categories), Students (9 categories), Professors (13 categories), Facilities and Equipment for Education (8 categories), and Post-graduation Education (9 categories) – divided into seven Requirement categories, 47 General categories, and 15 Excellence categories.

The Excellence categories are used to evaluate how excellent an institution is by examining certain criteria without influencing the accreditation results. Ajou University received positive evaluations in nine Excellence categories, particularly in the areas of lifelong education for operating the Graduate School of Global Pharmaceutical Industry and Clinical Pharmacy and in clinical practices and education for operating the only clinical pharmacology laboratory within the University Medical Center in South Korea for 1,600 hours of clinical education.
