all Understanding Korean Society This course provides an overview of contemporary Korean society and culture, and seeks to understand how the core societal values and popular culture have been transformed in interaction with key historical events. As we explore Korean society with an emphasis on four areas: politics, economy, people, and popular culture. we address key themes and issues that Korean society has been facing with.
fall Korean Public Administration This course provides a comprehensive overview of the various institutional arrangements of the Korean government to foster a broader understanding of the field of public administration. It includes a general survey of the structure and functions of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, as well as the roles of political parties, interest groups, and the military.

spring Sustainable Society This course examines the historical transformations that humanity has undergone in pursuit of sustainability in society and explores the fundamental theories and discussions that have been developed in sociology.
spring Climate Change and Energy Policy Theory This course aims to understand environmental and energy issues in countries, local governments, and civil society organizations in East Asia and beyond, and to propose solutions to these problems.
all ESG and Corporate Ethics This course provides a comprehensive overview of the rise of ESG as an investment strategy and its impact on businesses and the economy, with a particular focus on corporate governance (G).
fall Water Supply and Wastewater Engineering This course is an essential resource for students who want to gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices involved in the design, construction, and operation of water supply and wastewater systems.
fall Understanding Climate Change It lectures on overall climate change, including causes of climate change, impacts by each field, adaptation to climate change, and prediction of climate change. Furthermore, we will learn about measures to solve climate change and renewable energy. Through this course, basic knowledge that can be used for future climate change research and evaluation/policy will be acquired and applied.
fall General Waste Management Learn about the sources and types of waste generated in daily life or business activities, related laws and regulations on waste, collection and transport of waste, and recycling and treatment (incineration, biological treatment, landfill) methods.

We will examine each issue in depth, analyzing its causes, its impact on humans and the environment, and potential solutions.
fall Environmental policy Modern society is facing various environmental problems, including climate change. Environmental problems are directly related to the quality of life and happiness of humans and are one of the difficult problems that must be solved through collective intelligence. In this class, you will acquire basic knowledge about environmental administration and environmental policy. Students will apply the basic knowledge acquired through this class to actual local environmental problems and seek solutions to policy problems.
fall Environmental science Environmental science is an interdisciplinary field that studies the natural world and the impact of human activities on it. It draws on a wide range of scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, and ecology, to understand and address environmental problems.
fall Understanding Suwon This course aims to explore the past, present, and future of Suwon, the city where Ajou University is located, from an academic perspective. By delving into the city's history, culture, and society, students will gain a deeper understanding of Suwon and its significance in the context of Korea.
fall Korean Society and Culture This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Korean society and culture, with a focus on key contemporary issues and trends.
spring Korean Politics and Economy This course aims to provide international students with a comprehensive understanding of Korean society through its political and economic systems. Students will gain foundational knowledge of Korea's political institutions, political parties, and administrative system, as well as the trajectory of Korean economy from its liberation to the present day.
all Theory of Social Service This course aims to foster an understanding of the fundamental concepts and practices of community service, and to cultivate a spirit of service and a sense of community responsibility.
spring Understanding Social Policy This course will help students develop a deeper understanding of the complex and challenging issues facing societies today and the role of social policy in addressing them. It will also encourage students to think critically about the future of social policy and its potential to create a more just and equitable society.
all Community Service Practicum 1 This course requires students to complete 28 hours of hands-on service experience at a social service agency, medical institution, civic organization, or other social service program approved by the university's social service center.
fall Population Analysis This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the dynamic relationship between population and society by examining the processes and factors influencing population change, a key phenomenon in society.
fall Human Rights and Social Welfare This course aims to develop students' understanding of the fundamental concepts and theories of human rights, and to equip them with the skills to critically analyze welfare discourses and policies. The course will move beyond a normative and moralistic view of human rights, and instead approach it as a concept that is shaped by historical changes and social conditions. It will explore various welfare discourses based on human rights and examine welfare policies in Korean society. Ultimately, the course aims to help students develop the ability to answer the fundamental question of what constitutes a good society.
spring Social Change and Development This course offers a comprehensive analysis of macro-level social change by introducing theoretical perspectives on the causes, processes, and outcomes of social structural change. It also examines various theories and empirical studies on the causes, processes, and outcomes of development and underdevelopment as a special field of social change, with a focus on development issues in the Third World.
spring Social Stratification and Inequality In this class, the forms, processes, and results of social inequality and stratification are examined focusing on major theories, and the impact of stratification on social structure is systematically analyzed and reviewed.
spring Local Administration This course aims to deepen understanding of local governance and identify specific solutions for realizing local autonomy in Korea. Through critical analysis of theoretical and policy frameworks, comparative studies of local government systems, and examination of current issues and challenges, the course equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to actively participate in local community development and contribute to the strengthening of local autonomy.
fall Environmental Policy In this class, the learning goal is to accumulate practical and theoretical knowledge about environmental issues and environmental policies, and learn contents related to environmental policy, such as thoughts and ideologies, organizations and systems, policy implementation means, stakeholders, and conflict management.
