New requirements for Scholarship from Fall, 2020

1. New Standard for Scholarship
A. Previous Requirements:
- Took more than 4 credits without F or U during the previous semester
- Obtained a GPA of 3.0~3.5 or higher during the previous semester (varies based on the scholarship, please refer to the admissions brochure)
(Except practice classes which don't have an average GPA. CGPA is applied in case students complete the major credit classes)
B. New Requirements (Starting in the fall 2020 academic semester)
- Took more than 4 credits without F or U during the previous semester
- Obtained a GPA of 3.0~3.5 or higher during the previous semester (varies based on the scholarship, please refer to the admissions brochure)
(Except practice classes which don't have an average GPA. CGPA is applied in case students complete the major credit classes)
- (NEW) Must take the 'Violence Prevention Education' online class - mandatory (once per year)
2. Reasons for the changes:
A. Based on the 'Framework Act on Gender Equality' Article 30 and Article 31. 2020 Education for the prevention of violent crimes
B. According to the articles above, this 'Violence prevention education' is mandatory once a year for all Graduate students, therefore Ajou University has made it a requirement for all eligible scholarship holders comply with this.
C. In recognition of sexual crimes in society, the completion of compulsory education is enacted as a requirement of scholarship.

4. Notice
A. To be awarded the scholarship (Tuition waiver, TA etc), students must satisfy this new standard from fall 2020 semester academic.
B. This class takes about an hour to complete so please plan accordingly.
C. Students do not need to turn in the completion certificate. The school will check completion with a system.
