주제: High-order energy-stable methods for gradient flows
Abstract: Structure-preserving numerical methods aim to retain the essential physical properties of evolutionary systems throughout the computational process. In the context of gradient flows, ensuring energy dissipation is a crucial requirement, and the phase-field model is a well-known example. To achieve high-order temporal accuracy while maintaining this dissipative structure, the Convex Splitting Runge-Kutta (CSRK) method has been proposed by combining the convex splitting approach with multi-stage Runge-Kutta schemes. Using CSRK as a motivating example, this talk will explore broader challenges in the development of structure-preserving methods, including those designed for nonlinear wave equations and Hamiltonian systems, where properties such as energy conservation and symplecticity play a central role.
