강연초록

Coding Theory or the theory of Error-Correcting Codes has been one of the most practical mathematical areas. Coding Theory further interacts with other areas including Algebra, Number Theory, Combinatorics, Information Theory, and Cryptography. Coding and Cryptography have some common features but they have been developed independently. We show that these two areas can meet at some cryptographic computations. In this talk, we give a new class of error-correcting codes, called the CIS codes, which turn out to be very useful in the countermeasure of side channel attack on cryptographic devices such as smart cards. In this talk, we don't assume any knowledge of Coding and Cryptography.
