  • Topic: Deepening of Global Value Chain: Impact on Economic Development and Trade
  • Topic Description: International production is increasingly organized within so-called global value chains (GVCs) where the different stages of the production process are located across different countries. At the same time, trade in services is critical for the efficient functioning of GVCs, both because services link activities across countries and because they help companies to increase the value of their products. The division of labor in a global scale implies that a set of policy tools is needed to ensure inclusive and sustainable growth through GVCs. GSIS at Ajou University calls for research papers on the relationship between Trade and Economic Development under GVCs. Specific topics include, but not limited to country strategies for trade, sectoral trends and dynamics, determinants of participation and upgrading in trade through GVCs, the effect of regional trade agreement, the effect of trade policy on economic development.
  • Date of Conference: Nov. 27th, 2015 (Friday)
  • Place: Video Conference Room (#151), Yulgok Hall
