I am writing on the immigration policy change. Please read carefully the notification below since it is very important.

1. Visa Extension

If you have to extend your visa(alien registration card) before March 31^st, 2016, please try to apply for your visa extension NO LATER THAN Feb. 26^th, 2016 after paying tuition fee.

Due to the immigration office’s policy change, you have to submit the Verification of Deposit USD 12,000 besides the general required documents if you apply for it after February 26^th, 2016.

Therefore, if you have to extend your visa before the end of March, we highly recommend you to pay tuition fee and prepare the required documents between February 23^rd~26^th, 2016.

[If you apply for the alien registration extension before 26^th of February to GSIS Office]

1. Application Form
2. Official Transcript
3. Receipt of Tuition Payment for 2016 spring semester
4. Certificate of Residence / or Housing Contract under your name / or Official letter from the Immigration Office to inform your alien registration period ends
5. Application Fee Receipt 60,000KRW – You cannot pay by cash and you should purchase the ticket in Post Office in Maetan1-dong – For the detailed information, please find the attached file.

[If you apply for the alien registration after 29^th of February to GSIS Office]

2. Official Transcript
3. Receipt of Tuition Payment for 2016 spring semester
4. Certificate of Residence / or Housing Contract under your name / or Official letter from the Immigration Office to inform your alien registration period ends
5. Application Fee Receipt 60,000KRW– You cannot pay by cash and you should purchase the ticket in Post Office in Maetan1-dong – For the detailed information, please find the attached file.
6. Verification of Deposit USD 12,000

2. Immigration Office Visiting Process

Suwon Immigration Office changed their policy to issue an Alien registration card and to extend the alien registration period for the students who holds D-4(Korean Language student visa) and D-2(degree seeking student visa).

Since February 1^st, 2016, all D-4 or D-2 holders should apply for the alien registration and extending the alien registration period through Online Application or to through the university administration officer.

When you apply for the visa extension, please visit to GSIS office and submit the documents to Ms. Hayoung Park.
