[GSIS] Study Resumption and Leave Acsence information for 2016 Fall Semester

Dear GSIS Students,

Hello, this is Kyungrim Kim from GSIS office, Ajou University.

The end of 2016 Spring semester is coming, and we're going to welcome the 2016 Fall semester.

Before start the 2016 Fall Semester, I would like to intorm you about the "Leave of Acsence" and "Study Resumption". Please note below information.

1. Leave of Absence

[GSIS Academic Rules]

Article 17 (Leave)

① A student intending to take leave of absence because of his or her disease, military entrance, or any other unavoidable reasons shall submit a written request for leave of absence.

② The period of leave shall not exceed two (2) semesters for one time and four (4) semesters in total. Where a student intends to extend his or her leave, the student shall submit a written request for the extension of leave. However, leave required because of military entrance shall not be included in the period of leave.

③ A student on leave shall hold his or her school register even during the period of leave.

If you would like to apply the Leave of Absence, you have to submit attachment 1 document no later than 15th of July, 2016.

2. Study Resumption

Those of GSIS students who have been the leave of absence already need to submit attahment 2 document no later than 15th of July, 2016 to study Ajou univeristy again.

Please note that even though your visa date is valid, you can not use it when you re-enter into Korea.

If you send us the Application for Study Resumption, we will send you the New Certificate of Admission. With that letter you should get the visa again from the Korea Embassy in your own countries. So, you have to do all the work for the Study Resumption earlier than you expacted.
