Ajou's students give useful information about their departments to high school students

[16.09.06]

The '2016 Ajou Mentoring Program for High School Clubs' was launched by the Office of Admissions to help high school students explore their future careers.

On September 3rd, a ceremony was held for the program in Yulgok Hall's Video Conference Room, with members of the university academic clubs and local high school clubs participating. It is part of efforts to establish a partnership between Ajou and local high schools.

The ceremony began with greetings by Vice President for Admissions Jung Ju Choi, followed by an introduction of the university and the program, and presentations about mentoring plans by academic clubs.

Thirty-four students from five academic clubs under the Department of Biological Science, the Department of Digital Media, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and the Department of Psychology participated in the mentoring that followed the ceremony and the fifty-two mentees came from five neighboring high schools.

Ajou's students will give information about their departments to high schoolers as mentors. The university plans to arrange at least five mentoring sessions by December, including the one on the 3rd.
