Ajou University and KFB kicked off the 3rd Cambodian Financial Staff Program.

On October 15th, Ajou University and KFB (Korea Federation of Banks) announced that they held an entrance ceremony on the 14th for the 2019 Ajou-KFB Cambodian Financial Staff Program.

The Program provides short-term training based on an agreement signed in 2017 between Ajou and KFB to provide scholarship funds to produce local staff members for Korean financial institutions operating in Cambodia. Through the Program, Ajou University is helping Korean banks expand their presence in Cambodia and hire talented new employees, and is contributing to Cambodia's fight against poverty and its economic development.

Fifteen participants will gain knowledge in finance during the first nine weeks of the six-month program at Ajou University's Graduate School of International Studies and work as interns for the next three months at Korean banks in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The first and second courses of the Program were held from October 2017 to March 2018 and October 2018 to March 2019, respectively.

Dean of the Graduate School of International Studies Byoung Kwan Kim said, "I hope that the program participants will grow as talents who can contribute to Cambodia's financial industry."

Professor Yong Ki Kim (Division of International Studies), who is in charge of the Program, said, "I am pleased that outstanding students are participating in this year's course," adding, "The University will provide quality education in finance, IT, and the Korean language."
