Ajou University unveiled the ‘CONNECTING MINDS' sculpture that represents its educational philosophy and directions. The sculpture is located on the lawn in front of Yulgok Hall, which houses the University's administrative divisions, and represents the theme "CONNECTING MINDS – Connected World and Collaborating Intellectuals."

The sculpture includes a round web that symbolizes 'connected individuals' and the words CONNECTING MINDS,’ with the side of each letter being painted in various colors to represent the diversity and creative future visions of the University.

In addition, three banners are hung on the ground floor of Yulgok Hall to demonstrate Ajou's educational philosophy. The sculpture and banners drew attention from students and their families after they were unveiled before the commencement ceremony in late February.

The University announced ‘CONNECTING MINDS' as its new communication slogan last year, which expresses its commitment to fostering futuristic talents who connect and cooperate with people from other disciplines in academic research and pursue extensive knowledge in the humanities.

In order to help students improve their thinking and problem-solving abilities, the University has been working to reshuffle its liberal arts curriculum since last year. It is also discussing restructuring its majors and creating large research groups that will allow researchers from different disciplines to join hands to generate greater values in Big Data and self-driving vehicles.
