Selection as a Participant in the "High-Quality Workforce Fostering University Capacity Enhancement Project"
     -  Subsidy of KRW842 million, the largest receipt among the small and medium-size universities

 

Ajou University was selected a participant in the "High-Quality Workforce Fostering University Capacity Enhancement Project" and received the subsidy of KRW842 million.  This it the largest amount that a 4-year university with the student body of 5,000 ~ 10,000 in the Greater Seoul Area received.

The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology selects 136 universities to offer the total subsidy of KRW100 billion based on the objective and quantitative evaluation of candidate universities\\' educational conditions and accomplishments.  The subsidy amount is determined through the "Formula Funding" method accordingly.

The "Accomplishment Indicators" like the graduate employment ratio (25% weight) and the active student ratio (20% weight) and the "Condition Indicators" like the in-house faculty ratio (10% weight), tuition per capita (20% weight), and scholarship receipt ratio (20% weight) are used to calculate the "Education Index." Markups are applied based on the student body size, and then the participant universities and corresponding subsidy amounts are decided upon accordingly.
