2023 FALL SEMESTER DORMITORY APPLICATION

FALL SEM. 26 AUG 2023 (SAT) ~ 23 DEC 2023 (SAT)

 

 

1. OPERATION PERIOD OF THE DORMITORY FOR THE FALL SEMESTER OF YEAR 2023: 26 Aug 2023 (Sat) ~ 23 Dec 2023 (Sat)

Ajou dormitory will not accept early move in and late move out, you cannot request to put your stuff before you move in.

 

 

2. APPLICATION PERIODS (신청기간): 

The dormitory application periods will differ from summer semester year 2023, 

please note the application period for each building as follows:

   1) International dormitory: 15 Jul 2023 (Sat)~ 18 Jul 2023 (Tue)

  2) Hwahong hall 2-person bedroom: 22 Jul 2023 (Sat) ~ 25 Jul 2023 (Tue)

  3) Hwahong hall 4-person bedroom:  29 Jul 2023 (Sat) ~ 1 Aug 2023 (Tue)

  4) Hwahong hall Single room: 18 Jul 2023 (Sat) ~ 1 Aug 2023 (Tue)

 

3. ANNOUNCEMENT OF SELECTED INCOMING STUDENT(선발발표):

   1) International dormitory: 21 Jul 2023 (Fri)

   2) Hwahong hall 2-person bedroom: 28 Jul 2023 (Fri)

   3) Hwahong hall 4-person bedroom: 4 Aug 2023 (Fri)

   4) Availability of single room at Hwahong hall, liaise with the dormitory coordinator.

 

 

4. CRITERIA OF APPLICANT (신청대상):

Enrolled Undergraduate, Graduate Students, Exchange Student, CIE students for Korean programs.

 1) If you are an undergraduate student who completes the course work or a special graduate student, you are not eligible to apply for the dormitory. (학부 수료생특수대학원)

 2) If you are a student on a leave of absence and planning to return to school in fall semester 2023, you are eligible to apply for fall semester 2023. (2학기 복학 예정자)

 3) If you are going to apply for the Korean Programs in Ajou university, you can stay in the Ajou university after confirmation from the CIE officer. (국제교육센터)

 4) If you are a graduate student who completed the course work, you can ONLY apply to the dormitory when you submit the below documents. (대학원 수료생)

  - Statement of Supervisor 1 copy (download the attached form)

  - Completion certificate 1 copy

* You can only stay in the dormitory up to 6 semesters from the completion date of coursework, if there are enough rooms in the dormitory

* If there are no enough capacity in the dormitory, your application will not be approved even though you submit all required documents.

 

5. APPLICATION ROUTE (신청경로):

 1) For Enrolled Undergraduate, Graduate Students

Step 1. Access to Ajou portal  https://mportal.ajou.ac.kr/main.do

Step 2. Click "로그인하세요(Log in)" Top right of the page

Step 3.Change language into English - it is bottom of the page

Step 4. Click "(New)Academic Affairs Information (학사서비스)"

Step 5. Click "Application for Student living"Step 6. Click "Dormitory Application" (Left side of the page)

For resident who wants to stay in the same room of summer semester 2023, you need to tick the question “I PREFER TO STAY IN THE SAME ROOM STAYING NOW”, 

when you apply for the dormitory in Ajou portal.

 2) New Graduate student, Enrolled Exchange Students:

  Log in at the online housing application system

  web page: https://edorm.ajou.ac.kr/edorm/index.jsp

 After log in to the above website, please select the relevant option in blue box.

 3) CIE Students for Korean Programs in Ajou university 

To apply for the dormitory, you can email to dormitory coordinator during the application periods. If you want to visit the dormitory office to apply to the dormitory, please visit us on 24 July (for Hwahong hall 2-person bed room) , 31 July ( for Hwahong hall 4-person bedroom) 2023.

 

6. ROOM ALLOCATION (호실배정):

For resident who wants to stay in the same room of summer semester 2023, you need to tick the question “I PREFER TO STAY IN THE SAME ROOM STAYING NOW”, when you apply for the dormitory in Ajou portal.

It is based on the allocation to the same room where you lived during the summer vacation. If you want to move other room or have any requests, please fill out the Google link.

 

**  If you have any request regarding room allocationyou can fill out the google link form 7 to 8 AUG 2023 ONLY. Due to some circumstances, your request may not be accepted.

** Google link will be updated in the notice board by 4 AUG 2023. Do not email to the dormitory coordinator for the room allocation.

 

7. REGISTRATION PERIODS (PAYMENT) 입사비 납부기간14 AUG (MON) ~ 16 AUG 2023 (WED)

If you fail to pay the bill during the registration periods, your application may be cancelled without further notice. Your room number is written on your bill/invoice.

To print out the invoice, go to “Ajou Portal”, further details, please see the route below.

   Route:

    Step 1. Access to Ajou portal https://mportal.ajou.ac.kr/main.do > Login > Change Language

    Step 2. (New) Application Affairs Information (학사서비스)

    Step 3. Application for Student living (학생생활신청)

    Step 4. Dormitory Application (입사신청)

    Step 5. Application Status > Print Bill (고지서 출력)

Please visit the dormitory office on 14 AUGUST(MON) 2023

You can transfer the dorm fee from 01:00am ~ 17:00pm (Korean time) to the virtual account during the registration periods.

 

 

9. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS BEFORE MOVE IN (입사  제출서류)

 1) Due date of document submission:  26 AUGUST 2023 (SAT)

 2) Tuberculosis test (결핵검사)

a. Before moving into the dormitory, 

    all residents should submit the result of a Tuberculosis (TB) test.

    If you have done the tuberculosis test, please do the test in advance before you move in.

b. If your tuberculosis test has expired from 26 AUG. 2023, 

you must submit a new TB test result to the dormitory office.   

The tuberculosis check result should be updated every year because it is valid for 1 year.

c. The result sheet must show either normal or abnormal of TB in English or Korean.

d. Submit via GOOGLE FORM (Submission route of google form will be uploaded in the notice board separately, please see another notice)

3) STATEMENT OF SUPERVISOR, COMPLETION CERTIFICATE for a graduate student who completed the course works

a. Please submit two copies via GOOGLE FORM

b. You need to combine the above copies to One PDF file

 4) SUBMISSION ROUTE (서류 제출경로)

All required documents need to be submitted to GOOGLE FORM by due date (26 August 2023).

Link of the  “GOOGLE FORM” for submission will be uploaded in the notice board later, please check the upcoming notice.

 

10. DORMITORY FEE REFUND BEFORE MOVE IN DATE

(입사 신청 취소  입사비 환불)

a. (여름학기 입사자) If you are a student who stayed for the Summer Semester 2023 only, you have to move out from the dormitory by 18 AUG. (FRI) and request for withdrawal of dormitory application to the dormitory coordinator, then full amount of dormitory fee will be refunded. 

b. (여름학기 미입사자) If you did not stay in the dormitory for the Summer semester 2023, you have to request for the withdrawal of dormitory application to the dormitory coordinator by 25 AUG. (Fri). Then the full amount of the dormitory fee will be refunded.

cTo get a dormitory fee refund, you must have a bank account in Korea. We do not give a refund to the bank account overseas.

 

11. MOVE IN PROCEDURE (입사 절차)

Press door bell at the gate > Bring along your student ID card > Report to the inspector of each building > Move in
