[Notice] 2021 WINTER SEMESTER DORMITORY APPLICATION & REGISTRATION

2021-WINTER DORMITORY APPLICATION

AND REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

 

Students who want to apply for the Ajou university dormitory for year 2021, please follow the instructions below.

1. CRITERIA OF APPLICANTS

1) Enrolled Undergraduate, Graduate, Law School students

2) If you on leave of absence, you must be the prospective students in the first semester of 2022.


2. OPERATION PERIOD OF THE DORMITORY FOR THE WINTER

: 2022.01.01 (Sat) ~ 2022.02.19 (Sat)


  • 3. BUILDING OPENING AND ROOM ASSIGNMENTS

    1) Hwahong hall

        Rooms on 1st and 2nd floor of each building will be assigned to the students first.

    2) International dormitory

        Rooms on 2,3,7,8 floors will be assigned first.

    3) If rooms above are occupied fully, rooms on other floors will be assigned.

       * Depending on the number of the applicants, above plan can be changed. 

     

    4. APPLICATION PERIOD AND ROUTE

    1) Application periods: 2021.11.29 (Mon) ~ 12.05 (Sun)

    2) Application route:

    For Enrolled undergraduate, graduate students

    Step 1. Access to  https://mportal.ajou.ac.kr/main.do (Ajou Portal)

    Step 2. Click “로그인하세요(Log in)” Top right of the page

    Step 3. Change language into Eng.-it's bottom of the page

    Step 4. Click “(New)Academic Affairs Information (학사서비스)”

    Step 5. Click “Application for Student living

    Step 6. Click “Dormitory Application” (Left side of the page)

     

    5. REGISTRATION PERIODS: 2021.12.13 (Mon) ~ 12.15 (Wed)

    If you fail to pay the bill during the registration periods, your application might be cancelled without further notice.

    Please let the dormitory coordinator know if you need help for delaying the payment.

     

    6. PRINTING THE INVOICE AND PAYMENT

    You can print out the invoice during the registration period from the Ajou portal.

    1) Route:

    Step 1. Access to Ajou portal https://mportal.ajou.ac.kr/main.do > Login > Change Language

    Step 2. (New)Academic Affairs Information (학사서비스)

    Step 3. Application for Student living (학생생활신청)

    Step 4. Dormitory Application (입사신청)

    Step 5. Application Status > Print Bill 고지서출력


    You can transfer dorm fee from 01:00 am ~ 17:00 pm (Korean time) to the virtual account during the registration periods.


    2) If you are not able to print out the invoice from the Ajou portal, you can transfer the dormitory fee to the Ajou university dormitory alternatively, please contact the coordinator for foreign students at rebecca2109@ajou.ac.kr

    REFUND POLICY

    1) Residents who are expelled due to violation of dormitory rules and regulations will have NO REFUND.

    2) If you want to cancel your application, please liaise with the dormitory office by 29 December 2021 (Wed), then the full amount of dormitory fee will be refunded.

    There is no refundable amount after 29 December 2021, please decided to apply for the dormitory carefully.3) Winter vacation residents have no refund even though early withdrawal from the dormitory.

     

    8. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS BEFORE MOVE IN

    1) Tuberculosis Test

    a. Before moving in the dormitory, all residents should submit the result of a Tuberculosis (TB) check.

    b.The result sheet must show normal or abnormal of TB in English or Korean.

    c. Without the result sheet, students cannot move in the dormitory. The tuberculosis check result should be updated every year because it is valid for 1 year.

    d. If your tuberculosis test is passed 1 year, you must email a new TB test result to the dormitory office.

    2) PCR test result

    If you are residents for 2nd semester of 2021, you are not required to submit PCR test result.

     

    3) Please submit these documents (TB, PCR test results) to the dormitory coordinator

    9. ROOM ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINE

    1) Room assignment will be handled by the Office of Student Housing & Residence with full consideration of applicants’ requests.


    2) Due to limited accommodations, room arrangement cannot be guaranteed as your preference and your room can be changed ever after being assigned if an unexpected situation occurs.


    3) Students can choose from the three types of rooms: Hwahong hall (2-bed rooms and 4-bed rooms) and International dorm (2-bed rooms). But since the 4-bed rooms in Hwahong hall are so popular, the Office of Students Housing & Residence may assign you to the different types of rooms when we don’t have any more 4-bed rooms left to assign. In that case you need to pay the difference of the rooms.


    4) The number of the dormitory assignments currently in use by 2 residents in 4 bedrooms and 2 residents in 2 bedrooms (1 resident in 2 bedrooms at Hwahong hall) will be changed from the year 2022 due to face to face classes.


    5) Students who have sleep disorders (snoring, teeth grinding, etc.) serious enough to disturb roommates cannot be accepted. You have no rights to stay alone. If you stay alone due to having sleep disorders, please pay extra the dormitory fee for other roommates, but it cannot be accepted when we do not have the remaining rooms.

     

    10. MOVE IN PROCEDURE

    Bring along student ID > Report to the inspector on 1st floor of each building > Move in

     

    11. HOUSING AGREEMENT

    All residents should abide by the rules and regulations of the Ajou University Dormitory. These rules and regulations have been set forth for the purpose of promoting the convenience, security and welfare of the residents of our dormitory, and to protect the dormitorys property from misuse and abuse. Any violations against the rules and regulations will result in penalties as follows.

    1.    Voluntarily withdrawing or taking a leave of absence from school

    2.    Being placed under arrest for criminal acts

    3.  Being suspended from school for a specified period of time or submitted to a more severe disciplinary measure  

    4.  Entering the dormitory under someone elses name or letting a non-resident stay overnight

    5.  Engaging in any conduct of drinking, violence, theft, gambling or arson

    * If empty bottle of liquor or alcoholic drink (including for cooking) is found in the dormitory room, it might be considered as drinking.

    6.  Harming public interest by unruly behavior

    7.  Illegal entry into the dormitory

    8.     Letting a person of opposite gender inside his/her room or floor

    9.   Changing rooms at his/her discretion

    10. Smoking inside the residence hall

    11. Spreading fabricated information or slander (through the Internet)

    12. Not following the directions of the university staff

    13. Damaging or making alterations to dormitory property without permission

    14. Making excessive noise or taking any actions that disturb other residents

    15. Bringing in or using electric products including all types of electric heaters (mat, cushion, etc.), stove, refrigerator, rice cooker, TV, iron and burner.

    16. Cooking other places except the designated areas

    17. Transferring the key to the dormitory to a non-resident without prior permission

    18. Disturbing neighbors after excessive drinking

    19. Bringing in and raising pets without approval

    20. Not attending orientation and fire safety education

    21. Not hand in requested documents for submission

    22. Letting in non-residents at his/her discretion

    23. Leaving the dormitory room and cooking/eating places in an untidy condition

    24. Removing or relocating fixtures and facilities at his/her discretion

    25. Drawing graffiti on or attaching unapproved materials to the wall

    26. Hanging out the wash in the corridor

    •  Forced dismissed residents cannot re-enter the facility.

    • If the penalty points reach to 30 points, the residents will be expelled immediately.

    •  The penalties are valid for one semester and will be deleted after they are used for the selection process during the next semester.

    • By applying for the dormitory, I hereby confirm that I have acquainted myself with these above internal regulations.        

       

    12. NOTE

    1) For residents for 2nd semester of year 2021, if you leave your stuff in dormitory without applying for the winter vacation, they will be cleared out without any notice.  You are responsible for your own belongings and we cannot keep your stuffs.


    2) We cannot be held responsible for the damage or loss of your goods while you’re staying or leaving from dormitory. Please always take good care of your belongings.


    3) Please remember the move-out day. After move-out day, you must either leave the dormitory or pay the whole fee of the next dormitory periods.  If you need to stay a few more days in dormitory, you should talk to a dormitory coordinator and get a permission from the coordinator and you need to pay the extra staying fee.

    4) Dormitory offers bedding sets (blanket and bed sheet only) at the inspector office of each dormitory. You can change them anytime whenever you want (bring your old bedding sets and change those old ones into new ones at the inspector office).
