Ajou's Endowed Chair Professor Hyeong Ju Park receives the DI Mathematician Award from the Korean Mathematical Society

[16.10.24]


President of the National Institute for Mathematical Sciences and Ajou University's Endowed Chair Professor Hyeong Ju Park (Department of Mathematics) received the DI Mathematician Award from the Korean Mathematical Society (KMS).


KMS announced the award-winners of the year, including Professor Park, at an international academic conference to celebrate the 70th anniversary of its founding. The Academic Award, the Excellent Paper Award, and the Sangsan Young Researcher Award, etc., were also presented during the award ceremony held on the afternoon of October 21st at Seoul National University.


Professor Park led the activities for attracting the International Congress of Mathematicians 2014 to Seoul, and made it successful as the Chairman of the Organizing Committee. He was also acknowledged for his activities in representing South Korea's mathematical society as the first Korean member of the Executive Committee of the International Mathematical Union (IMU).
